Yelang (Chinese: pin; pinyin: Yèláng) is an ancient kingdom of minor importance located in present-day Guizhou Province (China). This kingdom has remained famous in China thanks to a chengyu (Chinese idiom): "Yelang deludes himself about his greatness" (夜郎自大, Yèláng zì dà). It is inspired by a Shiji passage - "Biographies of the South-West Barbarians" (西南夷 列傳) in which the king of Yelang asks Ambassador Han "And in what way could Han be greater than Yelang? ".
