Association of Football Statisticians

The Association of Football Statisticians, AFS briefly, is a British organization, which has collected and maintained soccer statistics in its own country as well as in the rest of the world since 1978. The AFS does this on behalf of FIFA worldwide, and the FA and PFA in their own country. Statistics are also provided to the media and other bodies, for example to the gaming industry and academic institutions.

A monthly newsletter was published under the name The Football Experts. Soon this grew into a full-time magazine, issued four times a year. Currently the AFS is working on the Football Genome Project, a project aimed at bundling all contest and player statistics since the establishment of professional football. In addition, we are working on a comprehensive photo collection that will include the entire football. Furthermore, the AFS regularly publishes articles and lists based on statistical research.
