DS (motorcycle)

DS is a historic Swedish brand of motorcycles.

The company name was: DS Svenska Motorcycle Factory NV, Falun, later Hedemora.

DS was founded in 1924 by veterinarian David Senning and an engineer named Dahlin. They built special machines whose frames, front and rear forks were made of forging steel. 746cc-MAG head / side-lock motors were built.

At the end of 1925, the company moved to Hedemora, but at that time Sweden was in an economic crisis and the beautiful, but small-scale, expensive DS machines could not compete against the cheaper Husqvarna's. Production ceased in 1927. There were then about 520 motorcycles made.
