Antoine Gargault


Antoine Gargault was a French sculptor of the seventeenth century, born in Bourges.

This artist is known for numerous works, including the coat of arms of the city of Bourges and those of the town hall in the walls (1610), the frontispiece of the Church of the Holy Minimum Fathers (1619), the royal arms, those of the princes, those of the city, mayor and regidores on the newly constructed frontispiece of Saint-Privé (1612); a gallery in the old Town Hall (now school) in collaboration with Lejuge (1622-23); the rebuilding of the tower of the previous monument; the wooden bell tower of the convent of the Carmelites and a stone figure in the town hall.
