Carlos Vázquez Oldenbourg


Carlos Vázquez Oldenbourg is a Mexican politician, being member and founder of the party of the state of Colima, Association for the Democracy Colimense. He was twice mayor of the capital of the state of Colima in the periods of 1983 to 1985 and in 1998; first by the Institutional Revolutionary Party and later by the Party of the Democratic Revolution, becoming the first municipal president of Colima for the latter party. In 2001 formed the party of Association for the Democracy Colima and during the state elections of Colima in the 2003 competes for governor of the state of Colima. He participated actively in the resistance actions of the PRD politician Andrés Manuel López Obrador when being named PAN candidate as president of Mexico. Despite being a probable candidate of the PRD to the state governorship, Vázquez Oldenbourg joined the PAN to be postulated as candidate for local deputy by the third electoral district, nevertheless lost before Federico Rangel Lozano.
