House in Hoorn was a place in Rijswijk.

The House of Hoorn was probably built in the 16th century; It appears for the first time on a map of Delfland from 1606. The estate was located on the Delftse Vliet south of the Hoorn bridge and probably obtained income from horned wheat, tax on horned cattle transported across the Hornbridge. The house was located south of the Vliet, at the current Thierenskade and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue. It had one floor and a striking eight-pointed tower with a pear-shaped spike against which four dials were attached. At the head was a vault in the form of a windshield. Jhr. Mr. Adrianus van der Straten (1789-1857), member of the Van der Straten family, modernized the house in 1844, and built a second floor.

House in Hoorn has not been linked to a certain family for centuries; It changed well during its existence frequent from owner. As a result, it was likely that poor maintenance took place, and it declined in the nineteenth century. A cork factory was built at the beginning of the twentieth century, and then a dog brigade was housed by the Dutch Army. During the Second World War, the house had become so dilapidated that it could no longer enter and, after the war, no money was available to restore the house. It was therefore discontinued after 1955. Only an iron gate has been preserved. This is now being used in the Nobelaerstraat in Rijswijk.
