Jef Vanthournout (Varsenare, October 2, 1961) is a Belgian youth football coach at Club Brugge and former footballer.
Vanthournout played for midfielder for SV Oostkamp, Cercle Brugge, FC Eeklo and SVD Handzame. He played 177 matches for Cercle in the highest division between 1983 and 1990, with which he scored three times. In 1985 he won the Cup of Belgium and in 1986 Cercle was in the final of the cup.
After his football career, Vanthournout became an assistant trainer from Cercle Brugge. Prior to joining Club Brugge's youth, he trained SC Blankenberge, SK Gullegem, Wevelgem City and SK Maldegem.
