Chesed ("mercy"; חסד), is also known as Gedulah (גדולה). it is the fourth sefirah, it is situated below Chokmah. It represents the desire to share unconditionally, the will to give all of oneself and generosity without limits. The extreme compassion. The Hebrew word used in the Old Testament is Hesed. It has -principally- two meanings: one more legalistic in the sense of "fulfilling what was agreed" or of giving the other what is due to him according to previously agreed upon, and a second, more intuitive and spiritual sense, which assumes the meaning of free and spontaneous act of kindness and love.
