Fountain of the Three Spouts

Square of the Three Caños. First, the source. The fountain of the Tres Caños is a monumental modernist fountain designed by the famous Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and located in Comillas, Cantabria (Spain), where the architect was called to elaborate various projects. The fountain is in the square of the same name and is a tribute to Joaquín del Piélago, political son of Antonio López and López, the first Marquis of Comillas, for the canalization of the waters of the town.It was built in 1889. < / p>

The sculptural ensemble, which stands out for its vegetable motifs -especially floral borders- and angels figurations, presents a central column on a tripartite basis and a fountain on each of the three sides. Other ornamental motifs are a twisted dolphin, which is the central theme, a cross kick with buttons at its ends, and texts of thanks.
