Fuente Chrob ou Chouf

The Chrob ou Chouf (also spelled Shrob ou shouf) is located in the medina of Marrakech, near the Ben Youssef madrasa in the African country of Morocco.

The fountain was built during the reign of Sultan Ahmad Saadi al-Mansur (1578-1603). Its crown is made of wood in the form of a honeycomb of bees, and the whole is covered by a roof of green tiles. On the lintel is an Andalusian inscription similar to that of the Mouassine fountain. One of the inscriptions invites passersby to drink and look (in Arabic: shrob or shouf).

This Saadi fountain has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1985.
