Hyde in New York, 2010
Hyde (ハ イ ド, pronounced Haido) (January 29, 1969) is a Japanese singer, actor and guitarist. He is the singer of the Japanese rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel. He was born and raised in Wakayama and is now living in Osaka. He played for a while in the band of Jerusalem's Rod.
In 1992 Tetsuya Ogawa (professional name tetsu) asked him to become a singer in Tetsu's new band, called L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel (Laruku in Japan). Since then, the band is still active and successful. The band went on hiatus in 2001 and in 2002 his first solo album was released, entitled Roentgen. After that three more albums were followed. In 2004, L'arc ~ en ~ ciel released a new album, and Hyde began to combine his solo work and the band.
Hyde is married to Megumi Oishi. Together they have a son.
