Pituffik

Pituffik (location 76 ° 32'N 68 ° 45'W / 76,533, -68,750) was a Greenland Inuit hunting village until the United States was authorized to build an air base called Thule in 1951. By 1953 , all the residents of Pituffik and the nearby Dundas village had been forced to move 130 km north to the new town of Qaanaaq, commonly known as the "New Thule" at the same time. The Thule Air Base is also an area not belonging to any municipality. The population was 235 for January 2005.
