Ramón Sánchez Lizarralde


Ramón Sánchez Lizarralde (Valladolid, 1951-2011) was a translator, literary critic and Spanish editor, best known for his versions of Albanian, the language from which he translated numerous works by Ismail Kadare, Mitrush Kuteli, Bashkim Shehu, Mimosa Ahmeti , Ervin Hatibi, Agron Tufa, etc., and compiled several anthologies of folk tales and legendary Albanian epic. In 1993 he received the National Award for the best translation for The Concert, by Ismail Kadare. He was president of ACEtt until 2001. He has received the 2005 Silver Pen Award from the Ministry of Culture of Albania, "for his valued contribution in spreading the values ​​of the Albanian language, culture and literature, in Europe and in the world".
