Otus en Ephialtes

Otus and Ephialtes are an evil twin in Greek mythology.

Before the birth, the advent of the twins was already predicted. They were the sons of Poseidon and could not be killed by a god or human being. The Zeus thunderstorms were useless, just like Heracles's power. When the boys grew up to giants, they learned arrogance and the rage that came out of inviolability.

Ephialtes decided that he would dominate the goddess Hera. Otus chooses Artemis, the virgin virgin goddess, for his rape subject. He would do what no other could do. The twins rightly provided the brutal strength of the gods. They were men, and only saw male strength as a threat. The female power - the mind of mind - was never considered.

Thus, Otus and Ephialtes left for the Olympus, with the plan to crush the gods and become the new rulers of the world. During their siege, they locked Ares for a period of 13 months in a small bronze jar. Soon they had taken over the Olympus, and there seemed to be no hope for the Olympians.

During a break, Otus and Ephialtes repeatedly asked for Hera and Artemis. Every time they were rejected, until eventually the goddesses voted. Actually, only Artemis agreed, because Hera was still refusing.

Artemis went to Otus, saying that if he left Ares out of the jar, he had what he wanted with her. Otus was ecstatic, but Ephialtes was not too happy. The brothers began to quarrel, and they did not see Artemis changing in a deer.

When the fight reached a peak, she jumped between them. Both men stopped fighting and threw their spears on the deer, but they were so distracted, and she was so fast that the spears missed. They did not even miss her, but Artemis had put them down so that they threw each other at their spears when they threw. Otus and Ephialtes did what none of the gods could do, they killed each other.

Artemis returned to Olympus as a heroine and Hera retained her dignity. Ares was still in the jar until finally God Hermes released him.
