Patriarch Pavel Patriarch Pavle (Serbian Cyrillic Script: Павле), born as Gojko Stojčević (Гојко Стојчевић), (Kućanci (Slavonia), September 11, 1914 - Belgrade, November 15, 2009) was the 44th primacy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. His term of office began in 1990. In May 2008, he was relieved of his duties for health reasons. However, he remained titular head of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
He passed away on November 15, 2009. The Holy Synod, chaired by nestor bishop Amfilohije, took the patriarchal functions until until Jan 22, 2010 Irinej was elected to his successor. Externe link
