Plan Colombo

The Colombo Plan is an international economic organization that began in 1950 aimed at social development. The headquarters are in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where this project began. It provides economic assistance to the nations of the South, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. It was established after a rally in the British Commonwealth of Nations during the foreign affairs conference held in Colombo in January 1950, created to change the views on the needs of Asia.

A Consultative Committee is established to assess the resources that are needed, focus the world's attention on the problem and provide a framework within which international cooperation efforts could be promoted to the countries of the area to increase their level of life. Members
