Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres


The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers is a nonprofit organization named Swami Sivananda, built since 1961 by his follower Swami Vishnu Devananda. The purpose of the centers is to practice yoga and promote Vedanta as a means of achieving physical, mental and spiritual well-being and self-realization.

The yoga philosophy of Sivananda yoga taught in the centers and ashrams is a form of hatha yoga. Students undergo a long-term intensive study before they can spread it under the name of Sivananda Yoga.

The Sivananda training method is aimed at increasing body vitality, slowing down the body's body and reducing the risk of disease, through the development of the body. The philosophy is based on five principles:
