French Laurent Demol (Beersel, August 19, 1895 - Vorst, February 14, 1966) was a Belgian football player who played as a defender. He played in First Class at Union Sint-Gillis and played 19 matches with the Belgian football team. After his career career, Demol became a football coach and was a national coach for a while. Career As a player
Demol joined the Union Sint-Gillis at the age of 12 where he went through the youth series. In 1914, he debuted as left back in the first team of the team and won the Cup of Belgium in his first season. At that time, the First World War broke out and the league ceased until 1919. After the war, Demol became the country champion in 1923. He stayed there until 1927 and played a total of 176 games in which he scored 19 times. In 1920 he suddenly disappeared to AEC Mons in second class. After the first day of play, where he scored on a penalty kick, he did not play with it anymore. Apparently, the transfer was not approved and he had to wait for the new year to join the Union SG again.
In 1924, Demol was first selected for the Belgian football league with which he played 19 games between 1924 and 1927. Demol was in the selection of the team that was active in the Paris Olympics in 1924 but he did not play any matches. As a trainer
In 1927, Demol moved to RC Tienen as a trainer who was currently active in Third Class. In 1931 the promotion was celebrated to Second Class. He remained there until the war is not known yet. In 1944, Demol became a coach of the Belgian football team. He sat on the training bench during eight matches but could not win big successes. In 1946 Demol returned to RC Tienen and there was one more season trainer from the team.
