Alphonse Nzoungou


Alphonse Nzoungou (1938 - September 7, 2012) was a Congolese politician who was President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission from 2007 to 2012. Previously he served in the Congo-Brazzaville government as Minister of Justice from 1989 to 1991 and as interior minister in 1992.

Nzoungou was a member of the Kongo ethnic group and a native of Boko, located in the Pool Department, and from 1973 on, worked at the Ministry of Labor and Justice as Labor Services Administrator, as well as Technical Advisor and Chief Planning Department was appointed for the first time to the government as Minister of Justice, in charge of the Administrative Reform, on August 13, 1989. Therefore, Nzoungou was a member of the Central Committee of the Labor Party of the Congo (PCT) In the midst of the introduction of multiparty politics, he remains as Minister of Justice in the government appointed on January 14, 1991.

Nzoungou remained in his position as President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, until he died in Paris on September 7, 2012, at 74 years of age.
