Miss North Dakota USA is the official competition that chooses the representative of the state of North Dakota in the Miss USA contest. North Dakota is one of the least successful states in Miss USA with only 4 representatives in the semifinals. The highest position of the state in the national contest was reached in 2014 with Audra Mari who was first finalist of the winner Nia Sánchez of the state of Nevada. According to the Miss USA regulations, if Miss USA wins Miss Universe, the first finalist will assume the title of Miss USA, so there is still the possibility that the state has its first national queen. Previous to 2014 North Dakota did not reach the semifinals since 1996 with Juliette Spier who finished in the top 6. Summary
