The war of Dahis and El Ghabra is a war that lasted from 608-610 to about 650, born of a dispute between two men of rival tribes of Arabia. It has become a proverbial expression for any very violent and interminable conflict. Originedit code

Qais bin Zuhair, of the 'Abs' tribe, and Hamal Ben Badr, of the Dhoubyan tribe, bet 100 camels in a horse race: Qais ran a stallion named Dahis, Hamal ran a mare named El Ghabra .
