Contemplative orders are those Catholic religious orders that are usually consecrated in monasteries to the practice of prayer, meditation and work under the direction of an Abbot or Superior and under a Monastic Rule. Sometimes some Contemplative Religious Orders dedicate their work to teaching or support in the missions, although their true vocational sense is the Monacal Cloister and the silent life in the cloister, vacating only in God.
