The Ascension is an orchestra of Olivier Messiaen written between 1932 and 1933 and is subtitled Four Symphonic Meditations for Orchestra (Quatre méditations symphoniques pour orchester).
The work lasts approximately 27 minutes and was released in Paris on February 9, 1935 under the direction of Robert Siohan.
