Hathor is a fictional character from the American television series Stargate SG-1, played by South African actress Suanne Braun.
Hathor was Ra's companion and Heru'ur's mother. After the Tau'ri rebellion, she was imprisoned in her sarcophagus for centuries before being released by accident in 1997.
Leaving Earth, she tried to rebuild her power base, and she did, finally reaching the rank of System Lord before being killed by a good one during a clash with SG-1 two years later in 1999. Biography
Hathor originally ruled from his place of power in Ta-Netjer. The local people, the Netjerians were anthropomorphic beings who worshiped Hathor as a god with more devotion than that observed in other races. Over time she became an alliance with Ra, becoming her queen.
Ra, who did not want his queen, to have his own power base forced her to leave Ta-Netjer for good to join him on Earth, although the Netjerians did not take his absence lightly, committing suicide en masse and perform rituals to take her back through the Stargate. It was thanks to this alliance that Hathor lost much of her independence and freedom of movement, which she valued greatly, which led to her secret abhorring Ra.
