Marie Ludovika Wilhelmina (Munich, August 30, 1808 - there, January 26, 1892), Duchess in Bavaria, born princess of Bavaria, was the sixth daughter of King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria and Queen Caroline. Her sister Sophie was the mother of French Joseph I of Austria.

On 9 November 1828 Ludovika married her duke Maximilian in Bavaria (from Huis Wittelsbach). The couple lived in the Herzog-Max-Palais in Munich in winter and in the summer at Schloß Possenhofen on the Starnberger See. They received ten children, of whom the most famous, Elisabeth (Sisi), would marry Austrian Emperor Frans Joseph I, a full cousin of Elisabeth. Her son Karel Theodoor was the father of Elisabeth in Bavaria and thus an ancestor of Belgian kings since 1934.

In her last years, she was confronted with tragic events, such as the death of her cousin Louis II and the suicide of her grandson Rudolf.

On January 25, 1892, Emperor Elisabeth received a telegram from Munich: Ludovika had pneumonia. On January 26, 1892, at four o'clock in the morning, Duke died Ludovika at the age of 83.

At her death she had seven children, fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. One day after her death, her thirteenth great grandchild was born. Children of Ludovika and Maximilian
