Mavileo is the name of the drum freak from Leimuiden in the municipality of Kaag and Braassem. Mavileo means Musical Entertainment for Everyone in Leimuiden and Surroundings.
Mavileo was founded on October 14, 1975 and has several groups as a music association. The blazers and the percussionists form the Drumfanfare. At the many street performances, inside and outside Leimuiden, the Drumfanfare is preceded by the Majorettes. Drumfanfare Mavileo regularly participates in Competitions. The majorettes / twirlsters regularly participate in Twirl games. The association offers courses for inter alia flute, trumpet, percussion and baton twirling. In all groups, continuous students are in training. Drumfanfare Mavileo is affiliated with the KNMO. One of the highlights of the association's existence was the 30th anniversary. During the 30th anniversary of 2005, a number of members of the percussion group set the world record record of 30 hours by playing Leimuiden's sports hall for 30 hours in a row. The group, consisting of six percussionists, was supported by fellow workers, Mavileo's blazer group and sister associations from the area. In 2015, the association celebrates its 40th anniversary.
